2N Access Unit 2.0 RFID — multi-frequency reader

Effective access control is key to security and convenience in commercial and residential buildings. This multi-frequency access card and key fob reader from 2N supports the 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz bands, which allows compatibility with a wide range of technologies, including NFC and 2N PICard. The reader combines the function of a reading unit and an integrated controller, so there is no need for a separate module. Thanks to power supply via PoE 802.3af or an external 12 V DC source, installation is flexible and simple. The robust design with IP54 and IK08 protection ensures resistance to moisture, dust and mechanical damage.

Flexibility and easy installation

The reader is designed for various installation conditions. Users can choose between surface mounting (130 × 107 × 28 mm) or flush installation, which requires a minimum opening of 131 × 108 × 45 mm. Thanks to the possibility of connecting via LAN 10/100BASE-TX with RJ-45 connector and Auto-MDIX, the reader can be easily integrated into an existing network. This will be appreciated by both building managers and technicians when modernizing access systems.

Broad support for RFID and NFC technologies

The device supports RFID bands 125 kHz (EM4x02) and 13.56 MHz with compatibility for a wide range of standards, such as ISO14443A (including MIFARE), ISO14443B, PicoPass, FeliCa and others. This versatility allows the use of existing access cards and key fobs, which reduces the cost of switching to a new system. In addition, NFC support allows the use of modern technologies, such as access via smartphones.

Durability and reliability

The device is designed to operate in extreme conditions with a temperature range of -40 to +60 °C and humidity of 10–95% (non-condensing). The IP54 protection rating protects the reader from dust and splashing water, while the IK08 rating guarantees resistance to mechanical damage. This makes the reader an ideal choice for both outdoor and indoor use in harsh environments.
