Take‑back of old electrical equipment and batteries
What the crossed‑out wheeled bin means
This symbol on a product, its packaging or its documents means that at the end of its life the product must not be thrown away with mixed household waste.
Do not throw them into mixed waste
Electrical and electronic equipment and batteries must not be disposed of as mixed municipal waste. Hand them in for separate collection.

Public collection points
You can also hand in old electrical equipment and batteries free of charge at a public collection point, such as a municipal collection yard or a collection box in a shop.
Why separate collection matters
Electrical equipment and batteries can contain substances harmful to health and the environment, as well as valuable raw materials. Separate collection keeps the harmful substances out of the environment and allows the materials to be recycled.
