The module enables communication at a speed of up to 1.25 Gbps at a distance of up to 2 km. In practice, it is thus used for short and medium optical networks and provides a fast and stable gigabit connection for switches, routers, servers, etc.
It also features Digital Diagnostic Monitoring ( DDM) that conforms to the SFF-8472 standard and supports real-time monitoring of the transceiver. The module is designed to be inserted into an SFP slot and is powered directly from the device.
