Small-Form-Pluggable (SFP) miniGBIC conversion Gigabit module. Standard 1000Base-LX, IEEE82.3z. Simplex LC connector, for single-mode fibers. It enables two-way communication over a single optical fiber. Expands/converts switch and converter ports with miniGBIC (SFP) slots.

It is equipped with a Digital Monitoring Interface (DMI), in switches and converters equipped with support for this feature, they are able to diagnose the amplitude of the optical signal and other operational parameters of this interface.

For the connection between WDM modules, it is necessary to combine the TX/RX wavelengths of the opposite sides, pairs of modules are usually distinguished by a code representing the A or B side.
