Victron BP-220 Battery Protect (12/24V)
The BatteryProtect battery protection disconnects the battery from insignificant loads before the battery is completely discharged (which would cause its destruction) or until it still has enough capacity to start the engine.
Disconnection of consumers as protection against deep discharge of the battery
Maximum load current 220 A
Automatic setting 12/24 V
The BatteryProtect battery protection automatically detects the voltage in the system.
Easily programmable
The BatteryProtect protection can be set to connect/disconnect at several different voltage levels. The seven-segment display shows which setting has been selected.
Special settings for Li-ion batteries
In this mode, the BatteryProtect protection can be controlled via the VE.Bus BMS.
Very low power consumption
Low power consumption is very important for Li-ion batteries, especially after shutdown at low voltage. For more information, please see the technical data for Li-ion batteries and the VE.Bus BMS user manual.
Overvoltage protection
In the event of an overvoltage that could damage sensitive devices, the devices are disconnected if the DC voltage exceeds 16 V or 32 V.
Spark-proof
It does not work with relay elements, but with MOSFET transistor switches, so there is no sparking.
Delayed alarm output
The alarm output is activated if the battery voltage drops below the set value for more than 12 seconds. Starting the engine therefore does not activate the alarm. The alarm output is an open collector output on the negative bus, max. current 50 mA. This alarm output is typically connected to a buzzer or light signal.
Delayed load disconnection
The load is disconnected 90 seconds after the alarm has been triggered. If the battery voltage rises to the “connection threshold” level during this time (e.g. during engine starting), the load will not be disconnected.
BatteryProtect battery protection is unidirectional, i.e. current can only flow from the “in” input to the “out” output. Reverse current flowing from the output "out" to the input "in" is unacceptable and will damage the device
