MikroTik FTC21-ups — outdoor media converter with UPS

Unstable power supply at the edge of the network can cause outages and unnecessary service interventions. MikroTik FTC21-ups solves this problem thanks to the integrated UPS battery (2× Li-Ion NCA 18650, total 5000 mAh), which can bridge short-term power outages and ensure a stable network connection. The combination of IP67 waterproof protection and a wide temperature range -40 to +70 °C allows reliable operation even in harsh outdoor conditions. Thanks to the SwOS Lite system, it offers advanced management functions and flexibility for professional network solutions.

Stable network connection even during power outages

The integrated UPS with a capacity of 5000 mAh (2× Li-Ion NCA 18650) ensures uninterrupted operation during short-term power outages or voltage drops. This feature is key to minimizing network outages and the need for technician intervention. For example, when powering a MikroTik Cube 60Pro device (~13 W), the battery lasts 45-55 minutes, for lighter devices such as the SXT LTE7 kit (~3 W) up to 3.5 hours. Without load, the FTC21-ups itself lasts on the battery for approximately 6 hours.

Flexible connectivity and power supply

The device has 1× 2.5G SFP port for connecting optical fiber and 2× Gigabit Ethernet ports for end devices. The Ether2 port supports PoE-out (802.3af/at and Passive PoE) with selectable voltage 24 or 48 V, which allows powering connected devices directly from the converter. For its own power supply, you can use PoE-in (48-57 V) or DC jack (24-57 V) with automatic switching.

Advanced Networking Features and Robust Operation

MikroTik FTC21-ups runs on SwOS Lite, which offers advanced features such as VLAN support, SNMP reporting, basic traffic shaping or packet filtering using Access Control Lists. The waterproof design with IP67 protection and operating temperature -40 to +70 °C allows installation in harsh outdoor conditions, such as on poles or buildings.
