Solarmi PG01 Smart Wi-Fi Socket — Energy Monitoring

The Solarmi PG01 is the ideal solution for smart home environments where precise energy measurement and local, cloud-free control are priorities. Powered by an ESP8285 microcontroller with 2 MB of Flash memory and an integrated Wi-Fi module, it supports control via MQTT and HTTP protocols, enabling seamless integration into platforms like Home Assistant. The socket features the HLW8032 chip, which monitors voltage, current, active power, and total energy consumption in real-time without requiring calibration. With a maximum load capacity of 16 A / 3680 W, it is compatible even with high-power appliances. Additionally, the device comes with Tasmota firmware pre-installed, making it ready for immediate use.

Precise Energy Consumption Measurement

The Solarmi PG01 utilizes the HLW8032 chip, designed to accurately monitor key electrical parameters such as voltage, current, active power, and total consumption. This capability is essential for detailed cost monitoring and optimizing household energy usage. The measurement process requires no calibration, saving time during installation.

Local Control and Flexible Integration

Thanks to the pre-installed Tasmota firmware, the socket operates independently of cloud services. Control is managed via MQTT, HTTP, or a web interface, ensuring maximum control over the device. Automatic detection within platforms like Home Assistant simplifies smart home deployment, while support for Node-RED and openHAB further extends compatibility. ### Safety, Performance, and Compact Design The Solarmi PG01 is designed with safety and reliability in mind. A flame-retardant polycarbonate housing and overload protection enhance operational safety. Its compact EU Type F (Schuko) design, measuring 82 × 50 × 50 mm, ensures easy placement even in confined spaces. A maximum load capacity of 16 A / 3680 W allows for the connection of a wide range of devices. ### Technical Details

  • Main Chip: Espressif ESP8285 (2 MB Flash, integrated 2.4 GHz 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi)
  • Metering Chip: HLW8032 (voltage, current, active power, total energy consumption)
  • Firmware: Pre-installed Tasmota, OTA update support
  • Input Voltage: 100-240 V AC, 50/60 Hz
  • Maximum Load: 16 A / 3680 W (resistive load)
  • Communication Protocols: MQTT, HTTP, web interface
  • Compatibility: Home Assistant (auto-discovery), Node-RED, openHAB
  • Housing Material: Flame-retardant polycarbonate
  • Dimensions: 82 × 50 × 50 mm
  • Operating Temperature: -10 to +40 °C

GPIO Mapping

  • GPIO3: CSE7766 Rx (serial communication with metering chip)
  • GPIO5: Button (Button1)
  • GPIO12: Relay (Relay1)
  • GPIO13: Status LED (LedLinki)

Low-Load Behavior

The HLW8032 chip may occasionally report invalid values when the load is below 5 W. The default setting SetOption39 128 ignores up to 128 invalid values before determining a no-load state. To eliminate reports for loads under 6 W, SetOption39 1 can be used. If you are looking for a smart socket with precise energy monitoring, safety features, and local control capabilities, the Solarmi PG01 is a great choice for your smart home!
