The handheld code reader is a great choice for users who need reliable and fast scanning in various work environments. Thanks to its 640 × 480 px CMOS image sensor, it can read both 1D and 2D barcodes with high accuracy and can even handle damaged or poorly printed codes. Its dust and water resistance (IP52) and ability to absorb drops from heights of up to 1.5 m guarantee a long service life even in harsh conditions. The ergonomic design and flexible accessories, such as an adjustable stand, make it an ideal solution for both handheld and hands-free scanning.

Powerful scanning and decoding

The Newland HR23 Dorada reader is equipped with advanced decoding technology that allows you to read codes from different distances. For example, for common EAN-13 codes, it can scan from 50 mm to 280 mm, while for dense Data Matrix codes, the range is from 30 mm to 125 mm. Thanks to resolution ≥3 mil, it can identify even very small codes, while the minimum readability contrast is only 20%. This feature makes it easier to work in environments with poorer print quality or lighting.

Connectivity and energy efficiency

The device connects via USB interface, supporting USB-KBW, USB-CDC and HID-POS protocols. Power is provided by a standard 5 V DC ±5%, while the typical reader consumption is only 190 mA and drops to just 35 mA in standby mode. This low energy consumption is ideal for all-day operation with minimal impact on power sources.

Durability and ergonomics

Thanks to its robust construction, the reader is resistant to a drop from a height of 1.5 m onto a concrete surface and meets the IP52 resistance standard, which protects it from dust and water droplets. The compact dimensions 161 × 95 × 68 mm and low weight 137 g ensure a comfortable hold even during long-term use. The ergonomic design reduces hand fatigue during all-day scanning, and the ability to set the hands-free mode thanks to the supplied stand increases user productivity.
