Media converter with SFP slot. Thanks to the slot, it can work with both multimode and single mode miniGBIC modules. A big advantage is the support of PoE power supply in the 802.3af/at standard and outdoor design. The converter serves as a transition between the classic metallic network and optics. Thanks to its placement in a waterproof case and support of PoE power supply via UTP cable, in addition in the 802.3af/at standard, it is ideal for outdoor installations. The converter is then suitable wherever the distance between two points is longer than a classic metallic network allows and a galvanic connection cannot be used. Optical fibers are also very resistant to disruptive electromagnetic or atmospheric influences.
