Transmission technology and compatibility

XtendLan EOC11 uses transmission frequencies of 2-89 MHz, which allows the effective use of existing coaxial distribution without the need for their replacement or termination. Only one pair of devices can be used on one coaxial cable at a time, which is already paired at the factory, ensuring easy installation. The device is compatible with various types of metallic media, including cables with impedance other than 75 Ohm. In addition, it supports all Ethernet traffic on Layer 2, which means independence from the network protocol.

Installation and power

Installation is simple thanks to the RJ-45 (10/100 Base-TX) interface and the BNC connector for the coaxial cable. The device is powered by an external adapter with a range of 6-36 V DC, the recommended voltage is 12 V. Typical power consumption is only 1 W, but a maximum of 6 W, which contributes to low energy consumption. The power connector is a standard 5.5/2.1 mm jack, which ensures wide compatibility with common adapters. The LED connection indication facilitates diagnostics and provides an overview of the connection status.
