For demanding industrial applications, transportation, energy or smart cities, the Teltonika RUT204 is the ideal solution that combines 4G LTE Cat 4 connection (speed up to 150 Mbps DL / 50 Mbps UL) and native CAN FD interface. This device allows easy transmission of machine data over the mobile network without the need for external converters. Thanks to dual SIM card slots with automatic switching, it provides reliable connectivity even in case of outages or weak signals. The integrated GNSS receiver (GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, QZSS) supports location tracking and geofencing. The robust design and operating temperature from -40 °C to +75 °C ensure trouble-free operation even in extreme conditions.

Connectivity and Industrial Compatibility

The Teltonika RUT204 supports a wide range of industrial protocols, such as CANopen and SAE J1939, making it an ideal choice for integration with vehicle and machine networks. The RS-232 and CAN interfaces are output to a common 6-pin terminal block, which makes it easy to connect to various devices. In addition, it supports Modbus, BacNET, OPC UA and other industrial protocols, making it flexible for various deployments.

Flexible power supply and PoE support

The device can be powered in the 9-57 V DC range, which is ideal for use in industrial installations and vehicles. It supports both active PoE-in (802.3af) and passive PoE, which ensures simple installation without the need for additional cables. Thanks to reverse polarity protection, the device is safe and resistant to installation errors.

Security and Network Features

The router offers advanced security features including a multi-layer firewall, DDoS protection, and certificate support (CA, server, client). Access management is ensured by authentication using RADIUS, TACACS+, and X.509 certificates. Network features include VPN protocols such as OpenVPN, WireGuard, IPsec, or QoS/SQM to optimize transmission capacity. Thanks to the RutOS (OpenWrt) operating system and remote management via RMS, the device can be configured and monitored without the physical presence of a technician.
