Backup 12 V, 55 Ah lead battery in VRLA (GEL) design, suitable for applications where there is frequent and deep discharge / cycling, i.e. mainly for electric motor drives.

It is a construction in which the internal pressure is regulated by means of valves (VRLA - valve regulated lead acid). Hybrid GEL technology = the electrolyte is solidified in a hybrid gel (combination with AGM) and is thus firmly bound in the bowels of the battery cells, thereby preventing its leakage. The extra strong grid of cells ensures very high cyclic resistance (around 600 cycles at 80% D.O.D = depth of discharge 80%). The advantages are mainly the following:

• higher maximum discharge currents
• absolutely maintenance-free (in terms of water refilling)
• much longer cycle life than a conventional battery
• shockproof
• leakproof - non-spillable, the battery can work permanently at an angle of inclination of up to 90°

Accumulators are mainly intended for the following applications

For applications where the accumulators are connected in series, we recommend including a protective element - balancer, which ensures the voltage balance between the individual accumulators. The inclusion of this element prevents damage to the batteries and contributes to achieving maximum service life.

Maintenance of batteries

The cycle life of the battery is approximately 1200 cycles / 50% D.O.D. (50% D.O.D. = depth of discharge 50%) at 25°C. In order to achieve optimal battery life in cyclic operation, the maximum permitted depth of discharge of 80% D.O.D. must be respected. specified by the ČSN EN61044 standard. When storing batteries for a longer period, it is necessary to ensure their continuous charging. At a storage temperature of 25 °C, charge every 6 months, if the temperature is higher, charge more often. Operating temperature range: charging -15 to 40 °C, discharging -15 to 50 °C, storage -10 to 40 °C. Long-term exposure of batteries to temperature extremes shortens their lifespan.
