The new generation of MPPT controllers of the XTRA-N G3 BLE series with built-in Bluetooth is ideal for island systems with panel voltages up to 100 V and a maximum charging power of 40 A. Battery 12/24 V, FVE max 520/1040 Wp.
This solar controller is suitable for a wide range of island applications, such as cottages, houses, etc. It is also suitable for use in cars thanks to the possibility of grounding to the minus pole.
A multifunction display is integrated directly into the MPPT controller for easy monitoring of the system and possible setting of operating parameters, including control LEDs.
Built-in Bluetooth connection allows monitoring and setting of the controller without the need for additional components.
The controller works as an inverter, which means that it can process higher input voltage and lower current to lower voltage/increase current with high efficiency. We can therefore use practically any solar panel. The controller is compatible with lead and lithium-ion batteries.
The solar controller is equipped with the latest MPPT technology (Maximum PowerPoint Tracking) - tracking the maximum power point with a sophisticated tracking algorithm, when the solar module operates at the ideal voltage that the solar module can produce at the highest available power. Compared to a classic PWM controller, MPPT technology increases charging efficiency by approximately 30%.
The maximum charging power to the battery of this model is 40 A, which corresponds to a panel power of 520 Wp if you have a 12V battery, or 1040 Wp if you have a 24V battery. If the panel produces higher power, the controller will only limit it to its nominal max. power. The power of the PV panels must not be higher than 1.5 times the nominal power of the controller!
You can connect solar panels in series, but their open-circuit voltage, referred to as Voc, must never exceed the open-circuit voltage Voc value of 100 V - exceeding this value will permanently damage the controller (it must be taken into account that the solar panel voltage increases with decreasing ambient temperature, and the Voc value specified in the solar panel parameters is at 25 °C. Therefore, it is not recommended that the Voc value exceed 90 V)
The controller parameters (mainly the type of battery used) are set using the built-in LCD version XDS2, or the external display MT52 (not part of the controller), or via built-in Bluetooth.
