Backup 12 V, 100 Ah lead battery in VRLA (GEL) design suitable for applications where frequent and deep discharge/cycling occurs, i.e. mainly for electric motor drives.

This is a design in which the internal pressure is regulated by valves (VRLA - valve regulated lead acid = valve-controlled lead-acid batteries). Hybrid GEL technology = the electrolyte is solidified in a hybrid gel (combination with AGM), and is thus firmly bound in the interior of the battery cells, which eliminates its leakage. The extra strong cell grid ensures very high cyclic resistance (around 600 cycles at 80% D.O.D = depth of discharge 80%). The advantages are mainly these:

• higher maximum discharge currents
• absolutely maintenance-free (in terms of water replenishment)
• much longer cycle life than a conventional battery
• shockproof
• leakproof - spill-proof, the battery can operate continuously at an angle of up to 90°

The batteries are intended primarily for the following applications

• power supply for electric motors (electric scooters, electric scooters, electric tricycles)

• motor homes (caravans, trailers, power supply for appliances)

For applications where batteries are connected in series, we recommend including a protective element - balancer, which ensures voltage balance between individual batteries. Including this element prevents damage to the batteries and contributes to achieving maximum service life.

Battery maintenance

The cyclic life of the battery is approximately 1200 cycles / 50% D.O.D. (50% D.O.D. = depth of discharge 50%) at 25 °C. To achieve optimal battery life in cyclic operation, it is necessary to respect the maximum permissible depth of discharge of 80% D.O.D. specified by the ČSN EN61044 standard. If the batteries are stored for a longer period, it is necessary to ensure their continuous charging. At a storage temperature of 25 °C, charge every 6 months, if the temperature is higher, recharge more often. Operating temperature range: charging -15 to 40 °C, discharging -15 to 50 °C, storage -10 to 40 °C. Prolonged exposure of batteries to temperature extremes shortens their service life.
