Tinycontrol air quality sensor SPS30

The SPS30 sensor is used for measuring air quality, i.e. polluted by PM2.5 and PM10 particles, and is directly intended for LAN controller LK3 and LK4. The sensor uses laser scattering technology and thus has high resolution, fast response and easy integration.

The SPS30 particulate matter (PM) sensor represents a new technological breakthrough in the field of optical PM sensors. Its measuring principle is based on laser scattering and uses innovative pollution-resistant technology from Sensirion. This technology, together with high-quality, long-life components, enables accurate measurements from the first start-up of the device and throughout its entire service life, which is longer than 8 years.

PM2.5 and PM10 refer to solid particles with a diameter of up to 2.5 µm and 10 µm, respectively, which are among the most dangerous air pollutants. PM2.5 particles, due to their small size, can penetrate deep into human lungs and cause a number of health problems; for example, they can trigger asthma attacks or contribute to cardiovascular diseases. The SPS30 system will enable the implementation of innovative air quality monitoring devices that will prevent the damage caused by air pollution.

The sensor shows the best performance/accuracy when operated within the recommended range of normal temperature and humidity (+10 to +40 °C and 20 to 80% relative humidity).
